Lutradur ‘Zig Zag’ Display Book by Sian Kibblewhite

We’re delighted to bring you one of Sian’s latest projects – a concertina styled display booklet made from medium/heavy weight Lutradur.

A folded concertina style display booklet, consisting of 8 sides, includng the front and back pages. The words 'Spring '26' are written on the front and the name Sian Kibblewhite appears on the front right hand corner.. The inside pages are not clearly seen in this photograph, but the overall colours are muted earthly tones.

As some of you know, Sian is a British Textile Artist who finds inspiration from natural colours, textures, and scenes. She has been active in the textile arts community for over 30 years and has contributed to Spunart’s website on several occasions.

A view of the opened booklet, showing four pages with images of plant stems in a silhouette style. Again all colours are muted earthy tones of brown, green, mauve and off white.

Sian designed this project to display various samples of her work, including printing, embroidery, painting etc. To ensure stability, Sian machine stitched each Lutradur section very close to the crease. However, as an alternative, she has also tried gluing thin kebab sticks to the folds, which also proved successful.

To colour the Lutradur, Sian used watered down acrylic paint to produce the lovely autumnal tones shown in the photographs.

We will be publishing another of Sian’s projects in the next couple of weeks, so please remember to look out for it!
