Valentine Cards with Evolon Soft

by Ruth Morgan | February 12, 2018 | Posted in Evolon

Evolon is ideal for colouring using a Marbling Kit We were so delighted with the results we achieved colouring Evolon with our Marbling Kit from Marbling Art Originals Ltd. (please see our previous blog for details), we decided to make some cards for Valentine’s Day. As Evolon is a very smooth and uniform fabric, the paint takes to it beautifully and provides superb definition of colour and clarity of design, even with the most intricate patterns. We think its even better than painting on to a traditional (woven) material. Evolon for Card Making For the card pictured below, we cut two heart shaped pieces of our […]

Hearts and Flowers for Valentine’s Day

by Ruth Morgan | February 13, 2017 | Posted in Evolon, Lutradur

Red roses made from transfer painted Evolon  . . . . The corrugated card, soft Evolon rose and thin green wire combine to give this Valentine card lots of textural interest. A few roses and a scattering of green leaves (all made from transfer painted Evolon) add a romantic touch to our table centrepiece.               Messages of love in Lutradur . . . Bunting is always a great way of celebrating any occasion and is really quick and easy to make using Lutradur, as it does not tear or fray. We’ve used Lutradur 100gms […]

Lutradur Love letters . . . straight to your Valentine’s heart Lutradur bunting is really quick and easy to make as it does not tear or fray. Simply decide on your message, maybe you’d like to include your partner’s name, or even pop The Question?! Cut the required number of flags from a piece of Lutradur 100gms,  then paint with acrylic paint and leave to dry. (Our flags measure 11.5cms wide and 13cms long and each letter is approximately 5cms high). As you can see from the photo, we used black painted flags embellished with red hearts to separate the words and create a contrast. Then […]

Evolon Embellished Draught Excluder

by Ruth Morgan | February 4, 2016 | Posted in Evolon

‘Home is where the Heart is’ – Draught Excluder Love maybe in the air this February . . . but no-one likes a draught! The recent windy weather (and the cool breeze around my feet!) prompted me to make this colourful draught excluder using a remnant of blue cloth. The letters and hearts are cut from a piece of Evolon, and then coloured using transfer paints. Evolon is ideal for this sort of decoration as it does not tear or fray, which makes it really quick and easy to work with. To make the lettering, simply print the words from your computer. (I […]

St Valentines – Crafting with Evolon and Evolon Soft

by Ruth Morgan | January 22, 2015 | Posted in Evolon

Why not add a little Extra Romance to your Valentine’s Day by making these lovely Evolon roses Evolon is ideal for crafting as it colours well, does not tear or fray and holds its shape beautifully. Our photographs show how the roses can be used, from a single symbolic stem, to a stunning centre piece or to decorate a card. How to Make the Petals Simply colour some Evolon (or Evolon Soft) with red transfer paint and then cut out a series of ‘balloon’ shapes to make the petals (i.e. a softly curved top edge, narrowing to a point at the base). We used 5 or 7 petals in gradually decreasing sizes to […]
