These ghostly apparitions were made using Zeelon Light – an ideal fabric for this type of project as it is translucent and beautifully sheer. We began by dipping strips of Zeelon Light in a diluted solution of PVA glue, before draping them over a proforma, made up of a plastic bottle, a small ball for the head and garden wire arms. Lutradur 70 Black is a superb fabric for Halloween projects, as its dark appearance lends itself to all things spooky! It is very easy to cut and holds its shape beautifully. Here’s a quick and easy example of how it can be magically turned into a witch . . . We used small pieces of Evolon for the witch’s face, hair, arms, belt, etc. which we had previously coloured, but paper, card, felt or ribbon would also work well. We made this decorative mobile using a couple of wire coathangers, some invisible thread and half a dozen cheeky little ghosts made from Evolon. (Evolon, is a white non woven fabric, which has a suede like texture. It is easy to cut and handles like thick paper, it also does not tear or fray – samples are available on request.)
